Father Guirguis S. Tadros

Fr. Guirguis started his priesthood service in Nov. 1986 at St George & St. Abraam Church in Heliopolis, Cairo, Egypt. And, since March 1992, Fr. Guirguis has been devotedly serving our congregation in St. Mark & St Abraam Church in Long Island, NY.

Fr. Guirguis Tadros was born in Heliopolis, Cairo, Egypt on May 24, 1959. He was then called Sherif Sobhy Hanna Tadros.

Fr. Guirguis grew up attending church services in St. George and St. Abraam Church in Heliopolis, Cairo, Egypt where he became very actively involved in youth ministry throughout his college and early career years.

In 1983, he graduated from the School of Medicine - Ein Shams University, Cairo, Egypt. He practiced Medicine in Egypt until summer 1986.

In his service, Fr. Guirguis was mentored and guided by His grace Bishop Moussa, the Bishop of youth.

In July of 1986, Fr. Guirguis. then called Sherif, took the step to dedicate his life for service/ He became a consecrated servant for the youth ministry in his home church. Shortly after, he was called for priesthood service at his home church - St. George & St. Abraam, Heliopolis, Cairo, Egypt.

On November 28, 1986, Fr. Guirguis was ordained as a priest by His Holiness Pope Shenouda III. Fr. Guirguis devotedly served the congregation and ministered the youth in St. George and St. Abraam Church in Heliopolis, Cairo, Egypt for a period of five years until he moved to U.S.A.

In March, 1992, Fr. Guirguis was called by H.H. Pope Shenouda III to serve in St. Abraam Coptic Orthodox Church in Long Island, NY.

And, in November 1999, Fr. Guirguis was elevated by H.H. Pope Shenouda III to the rank of Hegumen for St. Abraam Church in Long Island, NY.

In May, 2000, Fr. Guirguis earned a Masters Degree in Religious Education and Pastoral Counseling from Fordham University, NY.

Since 1992, Fr. Guirguis has been actively serving the congregation of St. Abraam Church in Long Island, NY. May Our Lord Jesus Christ continue to bless his service for many more years to come.
